Cute art style, and the story is sweet, be it a bit sparse. As an entry level game it shows good promise for one learning to develop independently. There is work to be done though.

On the accessible side; the text font you went with is a bit difficult to read, even at full screen. Searching for the little yellow "E" on interactable objects had me walking along each wall and spamming the interact button, especially for the second recipe as the yellow color was a bit difficult to see on lighter backgrounds.

As for gameplay; this is essentially just a fetch quest that drip-feeds you story. Nothing is inherently wrong with that, but it would be nice to see a cooking mini-game for each of the recipes. The game is titled a "journey into cooking" after all.

Overall, it's a sweet little game that I'd be proud of as my first. Let's hope to see your art style grow and what gameplay you'll try out in your future.

Thank you for taking the time to play. Yeah it's content is sparse as it only meant to be a prototype game and not a full game. Though even then it is lacking. It was made in two week for a game jam and as a solo dev life got in the way a lot. Though I could have planned better.

You are totally right about the font It looked great in early stages and then when it became clear it had problems, I didn't think I had the time to change it. Though looking back I probably should have made the time.

Again you are totally right it is just fetch quest with adventure text. I was hoping to make the fetch quest a little more completed but was rushed. Again poor planning on my part. I didn’t do any mini games by design though as I feel they often take from a game more then they add. They have a way of breaking immersion in my opinion. I was hoping the recipe book would be better but with the bad font no one really reads it and as such didn’t help. I will diffidently try and make the fetch quest better or find a mini game that fits if I take this project further.

Sadly not my first rodeo lol but still for a solo dev with only two weeks and getting sick at the end I am proud of it and will fix the many bugs left in, if nothing else, after the judging stage of the jam. If you want to see more of my polished works feel free to look at my profile here.
